Questions riders ask

Local Link is a South African ride-hailing app. You book a car from your phone and a verified driver from your area picks you up. You see the fare before you book and can follow your car live on the map.

Your fare depends on the distance, the time and the ride class you choose. The app shows the estimated fare for Economy, Comfort and VIP before you book, so you can compare.

With cash, a saved card, or your Local Link wallet. Card and wallet payments are processed securely by Paystack. You choose your payment method before you book.

When you add a card, Paystack makes a small R1 charge to check that the card is real and can be used for future trips. You'll see it on your statement as a Local Link payment.

Every driver's documents are checked before they can drive. Before pickup you see your driver's name, rating, car and number plate. During the trip you can share a live link with someone you trust, and the SOS button alerts Local Link and calls emergency services.

Today we cover Greater Tzaneen, Greater Letaba, Phalaborwa, the Capricorn region and Randburg, and we're adding areas as more drivers join. The live coverage map always shows the latest.
